Freshman Assignments: Reflection

     During the course of my freshman year, I came across some interesting fences that I needed to hop over, in terms of my artistic ability. Some of those fences include an in-depth overview of Adobe Photoshop.      In this first example, we had to make a room for a character in a video game. From this I learned how to light up different objects in a room with a limited light source and apply it to those objects.      In this second example, we had to create a narrative around a building. With this piece, I wanted the viewer to focus on the building but also be able to see the creatures in the dark. In order to make the building the focal point, I applied a dark background to it which allowed the viewer to focus more on the building.      Overall, I believe that I greatly improved overall but I especially think I was able to apply well lighting and a great focal point. Exploration Game Analysis: The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+

A recent addition to the Nintendo Switch is The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ . This game incorporates levels in a very interesting way by having the levels randomly generate every time you start a new game along with the hundreds of items provided. This action-adventure game incorporates exploration as well as an action packed adventure with different enemies in your wake that you must destroy.      For the story, Isaac's mom is told by "god" to sacrifice her son in order to show how loyal she is. Isaac, in fear, finds a trap door under a rug in his room and right as his mom opens the door he jumps in. As you progress in the game you unlock different endings and more secrets about Isaac and the other characters you can play as.      At the beginning of each level, you can only see the start room plus some rooms around you. You must enter a room and defeat whoever is in there. Once defeated, the doors will open allowing you to continue onward. The goal ...
